YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Youngstown Water Quality Compliance Coordinator, Nicholas D'Alesio is reminding Youngstown residents that the deadline to submit the Lead Service Line Inventory Survey mailed out to customers has been extended.

The deadline, originally set for the end of June has been extended to Sunday, July 30. D'Alesio tells 21 News the reason for the extension was how overwhelming the response to the survey was.

D'Alesio says he's been getting calls from residents asking if it was too late to submit their survey and that he believes the overwhelming response was due in part to a letter sent to residents from Mayor Jamael "Tito" Brown regarding the survey back in May.

The letter informed residents that information provided in the survey would help city officials update their records and allow them to pinpoint locations for future replacements.

If you haven't completed or turned in your survey yet and would like to, there are a few options on how you can do so.

These options include dropping off the completed survey at Youngstown City Hall at 26, South Phelps Street, scanning the survey and emailing it to leadsurvey@youngstownohio.gov, scanning the QR code on the survey and completing and submitting it online or completing and submitting it online by clicking here.

D'Alesio tells 21 News the city is mandated by the EPA to identify identify its customer service line by October of 2024. The city plans to have all lead removed from its water distribution system by 2050.
