A Greenville man died Monday evening when his truck crashed and then caught on fire in Mercer County.

Pennsylvania State Police say 42-year-old Joseph Kerekes was driving in Sandy Creek Township at 5:30 p.m. when his truck veered off a curve along Scofield Road.

The Ford F-150 struck a telephone pole, breaking it in half. The truck then hit a tree before catching fire, with Kerekes unable to get out. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
