One-year-old of Mercer County recovering after being shot in the leg

Mercer Co. - One-year-old Asher Cresswell of Jamestown, Pennsylvania is undergoing multiple surgeries in the hospital after being shot in his foot and lower leg Sunday at home and life-flighted to Cleveland.
Asher's grandmother, Tina Hartshorn, rushed to her family to help when she learned what happened following a call from her daughter.
"I am horrified that this even happened in my family, it's a nightmare," Hartshorn said.
Hartshorn said she is helping her daughter and grandkids navigate the situation that could have ended much worse.
Asher's father, 38-year-old Joseph Cresswell, is the suspect, facing felony charges of endangering welfare of children and possession of firearm prohibited.
The criminal complaint said Cresswell knowingly endangered his child after Cresswell allegedly left a "loaded, modified, sawed-off shotgun in an area accessible to his 1-year-old son," and then fled the scene before police arrested Cresswell in Trumbull County.
The records state Cresswell was prohibited from possessing or owning a firearm because he was already a convicted felon.
Mercer County District Attorney Peter Acker said there is no evidence the gunshot was intentional, and Cresswell's family believes the one-year-old accidentally shot himself with the gun.
Five other siblings of Asher's were also in the home when the incident happened and Hartshorn said Asher's mother was asleep.
He is expected to recover, but Hartshorn said there is still a long road ahead, but is grateful for all the community support they've gotten.
