K9 tracks down burglary suspects from East Liverpool, Chester

CHESTER, WV - An East Liverpool man and his alleged accomplice in a burglary were arrested after a K9 tracked them down in West Virginia.
According to Hancock County Sheriff J.S. Gittings, his deputies were called to investigate a burglary on Tuesday at a home along Ohio River Boulevard just outside of the city limits of Chester.
The Sheriff’s Office along with Chester Police brought in K9 Kevin along with his handler to begin searching the woods just 50 yards from the house.
After traveling about 300 yards into the woods, K9 Kevin led authorities to Toby Hornbeck of East Liverpool, Ohio and Stacen Young of Chester, West Virginia.
One of the men was carrying an identification card belonging to the resident of the burglarized home, according to investigators who also recovered four duffle bags full of items.
The suspects were jailed on charges of daytime burglary, breaking and entering an automobile, and possession of methamphetamine.
