Saint Patrick's Church in Hubbard is continuing to make significant progress in restoring its interior after a fire back in January of 2021.

21 News caught up with Saint Patrick's Church Priest, Father Michael Swierz who tells us progress is going "very well" with half of the church's pews coming back into the building, as well as the window depicting Saint Patrick (pictured below).

Father Swierz says the other half of the pews will be coming back once some of the heavier objects such as the altar and organ are placed back into the building by crane. Swierz says individual pieces of these items can weigh over 1,000 pounds each.

Swierz says the pews will be the very same ones used before the fire, but all of the kneelers had to be thrown out, so the church is waiting on new ones to come in.

When it comes to a full reopening, Swierz tells us he doesn't have an exact date, but he believes the church should be fully restored by late fall 2023.
