The Ohio State Highway Patrol's Mahoning County Post has announced the location of an OVI checkpoint that will be conducted in Mahoning County Friday night.

The checkpoint will be conducted from 10:00 p.m. until midnight on Mahoning Avenue in Austintown.

Additionally, law enforcement agencies throughout Mahoning County will be conducting saturation patrols throughout the weekend to stop impaired drivers and prevent injuries or fatal crashes.

OVI checkpoints are funded by Federal grants and are designed to deter and intercept impaired drivers.

If you plan on drinking, be sure to have someone sober available to drive you home.
