James Riley and Raymond Atkins have been indicted by the Mahoning Grand Jury on charges relating to two drug busts that took place earlier this year.

Riley, 32, was arrested back in June at his Lakeview home following a search warrant. Officers announced themselves to no response before forcing entry into the home, and later found Riley attempting to escape out a second story bathroom window.

In the home, officers found bags with white residue inside near the toilet, suggesting Riley may have attempted to flush drugs during the raid. Officers also found a white backpack next to the toilet containing several other bags of narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

Officers completed the raid having found marijuana, multiple backs of crack cocaine, fentanyl, ecstasy, oxycodone, and mushrooms according to police.

Riley faces seven felony counts, including possession of a fentanyl-related compound, possession of cocaine, three counts of aggravated possession of drugs, possession of drugs, tampering with evidence, and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Atkins, 36, was also indicted Thursday. Atkins was originally arrested in July after Community Police requested police backup at his Harmon Ave home.

When officers arrived on scene, they found several bags of marijuana, meth, fentanyl, and mushrooms in plain sight in Atkins' garage, after which Atkins was taken into custody.

Atkins faces four felony counts. Two for aggravated possession of drugs, one for having weapons under disability, and one for possession of a fentanyl-related compound.
