WEATHERSFIELD TWP., Ohio - The state fire marshal is accusing a man of setting a fire in the Weathersfield Township apartment building he had been evicted from earlier.

Ramzi Barnes, 27, remained in the Trumbull County Jail Friday on $100,000 bond after pleaded not guilty to aggravated arson.

The charge stems from a fire on July 16 inside an apartment on Forest Ridge Court.

A neighbor told investigators that Barnes and a woman who had been evicted from one of the apartments earlier were seen removing items from the building before the fire broke out.

The fire was ruled arson and a $5,000 reward was offered for information leading to the conviction of whoever started the fire.

As of Friday, the woman who was allegedly seen with Barnes had not been charged.

Barnes is scheduled to be in court again next week.
