Hermitage organization hosts backpack giveaway to give back to community
THRIVE will be giving away backpacks at its headquarters located at 3434 Innovation Way in Hermitage from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 11.
HERMITAGE, Pa. - As back to school season approaches, a Hermitage organization is hosting a backpack giveaway in order to give back to the community.
The organization, Trusted Home Resources for Individual Vitality & Excellence, otherwise known as THRIVE will be giving away backpacks at its headquarters located at 3434 Innovation Way in Hermitage from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 11.
THRIVE Direct Care Worker Raychel Carr tells 21 News the organization has 12 homes for mentally challenged individuals and this event is a way to show the community that they care.
The event is open to the public and will have free food as well as games such as cornhole, kickball and dodgeball.
