Around 15,000 homes and businesses will be connected to broadband internet thanks to $77.5 million in new funding under the American Rescue Plan's Capital Projects Fund, according to a release from US Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH).

Also announced in the release was $85 million for "multipurpose community facilities," designed to increase access to education, community health services, and workforce development activities.

The $77.5 million for broadband funding will be disbursed through the Ohio Residential Broadband Expansion Grant Program, whereas the Appalachian Community Innovation Campuses Program will administer the $85 million in community facilities funding.

While specifics have not been released yet on where projects will be funded, the ORBEG Program website has a map and search tool that can be used to help determine if you're slated to be plugged in to broadband.
