First Annual Glenwood Avenue Festival kicks off Saturday

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Festival season is still here in the Valley, and this year, festivalgoers have a brand new one to check out.
The First Annual Glenwood Avenue Festival hosted by the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation (YNDC), will kick off Saturday, August 19 at noon and will last until 5:00 p.m.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will have something for all ages including a kids zone with a bounce house, games, cookie decorating, a firetruck, a police car and a mobile library.
Additionally, there will be plenty of food trucks including TortaMo, Karter's Korner, Melina's Sweet and Savory Treats, Tra's Gourmet Sandwiches and Astia's Sweet Lemonade.
Entertainment will be provided by DJ Jocko and Mercy Health's Stepping Out Program featuring the Slay Steppas Line Dance Team.
The event will also have community resources available like the Mercy Health Dental Van and other vendors.
Parking is available at the Youngstown Playhouse at 600 Playhouse Lane in Youngstown, as well as multiple adjacent and surrounding locations including Mineral Springs Avenue, Evergreen Avenue and Summer Street.
There are additional gravel parking lots on Evergreen Avenue and Earle Avenue.
