The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services announced Wednesday that it has began offering rapid response employment services to the former employees of Yellow Corp, who's bankruptcy filing resulted in the closure of their North Lima facility earlier this summer.

Statewide, the closure of Yellow Corp has left roughly 2000 Ohioans without jobs, according to a ODJFS release.

"We know this is a very difficult time for everyone affected and for their families, as well," ODJFS Director Matt Damschroder said. "We want to make sure they're aware of all the benefits, resources, and opportunities available to them in Ohio."

As part of their rapid response program, ODJFS says they are reaching out directly to former Yellow Corp employees in the state to provide a packet of information explaining Ohio's employment services, how to apply for unemployment, and more.

Among those services is the OhioMeansJobs program, which has a center in every Ohio county where residents can go to apply for jobs, create or improve their resumes, participate in workshops, complete job assessments, and explore options for training, education, and certification.
