WRTA has announced that it will be discontinuing its bus routes in Warren.

A message posted to WRTA's website says that due to a loss of state funding, service will be discontinued in Warren effective after September 8.

According to a press release, WRTA was awarded a grant by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) in March of 2020 to fund a demonstration of fixed route service in Warren.

This grant has since expired and the funds to maintain the service were not renewed. Routes affected by this discontinuation include 70 southeast, 71 North, 73 West, 74 Elm and 76 North Jackson.

The discontinuation doesn't affect service on the 28 Warren Express. This route will continue as normal connecting the City of Warren with the City of Youngstown.

Anyone affected by this discontinuation should contact Trumbull County Transit at 330-675-2873 or WRTA at 330-744-8431.
