1998: Youngstown and Warren are working together on an application for a $100 million joint economic development grant from the federal government. 
 
Boardman Schools Superintendent Larry Saxton says concerns following several school shootings over the last year caused the district to begin work on a hotline for people to report threats of violence, as well as drug or alcohol abuse or sexual harassment.
 
Trumbull County indicted 17 people on charges of welfare fraud for collecting $50,000 in payment for child care that was not being provided.
