The Mahoning County Coroner has just released the identity of the male victim in a homicide on Youngstown's east side early Monday morning.

Early Monday, Police were called to 19 South Bruce Street near Himrod Avenue to investigate a shooting just after 12:30 a.m.

Officers found a wounded man outside near a vehicle. EMTs were called who said the victim had died. The victim was identified as 40-year-old Alexis Rivera-Ramos.

Detectives say they have no suspects currently.

This is the second homicide this weekend in the city and the tenth of the year.   On Saturday, a 26-year-old man was fatally shot on New York Avenue.

Just hours after Monday morning's homicide, police were called back to Bruce Street and Himrod to investigate a reported injury accident at Bruce and Himrod.

A car traveling on Himrod collided with a car pulling out from Bruce Street.  A pole and fire hydrant were also struck. Both drivers went to the hospital with injuries police say are not life-threatening.

Police don't believe the murder and the accident are related.
