Austintown Eagle Riders calling on volunteers to help restore Noah's Lost Ark after storm damage

BERLIN CENTER, Ohio - The Austintown Eagle Riders motorcycle club is calling on the public to help them restore Noah's Lost Ark in Berlin Center to its former glory after it was badly damaged by the recent storms that ravaged the Valley.
21 News caught up with Eagle Riders Sergeant at Arms, Todd Shaffer, who tells us he along with other members of the Eagle Riders will be out on site all day starting at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 2 .
Shaffer tells us he can't do this alone though and is calling on the public to help by bringing tools such as hammers, saws and rakes to clean up the mess.
Shaffer went on to say this will be a multi-day effort, but time is crucial because the shelter has a licensing inspection in the coming weeks, and if they don't pass, they must close down and forfeit all the animals.
According to a voicemail message on Noah's Lost Ark's phone lines, the animals are all safe at the moment.
Shaffer tells us there are a lot of trees down and the shelter's fencing as well as some animal pens have been damaged. More specifically, two leopard enclosures, a cougar enclosure, a lion enclosure and a bear closure that was in the process of being constructed.
"We've been here since 1998 and we've never had any damage come close to that," said Noah's Lost Ark director, Ellen Karnofel.
Even if you can't make it out to help, you could still do your part by donating to Noah's Lost Ark. You can donate by clicking here.
