YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - EDITOR'S NOTE: A previous version of this story stated that The Vindy's concert was scheduled for 4:30 p.m. This information came from a press release from YEA spokesperson, Jim Courim. We've since been sent an update from Courim stating the show starts at 4:15 p.m.

Youngstown-based rock band The Vindys will be holding a pop-up concert in support of the Youngstown Education Association (YEA) who is currently on strike.

According to a press release from YEA, the band will be performing at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday at the intersection of Market Street and Midlothian Boulevard in Youngstown in a parking lot across the street from Sami Quick Stop.

The concert is free and open to the public, but attendees are asked not to park in the lot where the concert is taking place because that area is specifically designated for the band and audience.

As such, parking for the event is very limited so attendees are encouraged to carpool if possible and utilize the parking lot across the street from the empty lot where the show is taking place.

Negotiations between YEA and the Youngstown City School Board are currently ongoing and both parties are hoping to reach an agreement soon and get kids back in the classroom.
