Youngstown home badly damaged after car crashes through it

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A Youngstown home has been badly damaged after a car crashed into it just after midnight on Tuesday.
The crash occurred at a home on the 2400 Block of Shirley Avenue near Homewood Avenue. Crews on scene tell 21 News two people and two dogs were inside the home in the basement at the time of the crash, but no one in the house was hurt.
Youngstown Police Department Traffic Commander, Robert Gentile tells 21 News the driver sustained minor injuries, but refused medical treatment.
Police on scene say they believe the driver lost control of the vehicle while traveling downhill. Police did not say whether or not they believe drugs or alcohol to be a factor in this crash.
21 News crews on scene observed a car in a neighboring driveway that had been damaged as a result of the crash.
Officials on scene had to call a company to stabilize the house in order to remove the vehicle.
