Youngstown woman pleads guilty to killing 13-year-old girl in May shooting

A Youngstown woman has pled guilty to killing a 13-year-old girl in Youngstown back in May of 2023.
According to court employees, 29-year-old Shamara Green pled guilty to one count of involuntary manslaughter and one count of discharge of a firearm near a prohibited premise.
The charges stem from an incident in May of 2023 when Green shot and killed 13-year-old London Jones of Youngstown in what police described as an "irresponsible gathering of adults" on the 400 Block of Carroll Street.
Upon further investigation police believe Jones was not Green's intended target stating that they believe they do know who the shot was meant for and that the incident is believed to have stemmed from an argument over social media.
Green is scheduled to be sentenced in the Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas on October 25 at 8:30 a.m.
