New details revealed in crash involving YCSD Administrator, picketer

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - 21 News has learned new details on an incident involving a Youngstown City School District (YCSD) administrator striking a picketer during a strike at Volney Rogers Elementary School.
According to a crash report from YPD's Traffic Division, picketer and teacher, Shane Snyder was struck by Aaron Bouie III, who is listed as the Executive Director of Elementary Education on YCSD's website.
The report states that Snyder and other witnesses told police that Bouie "came in pretty fast," struck him and fled to the school. However, Bouie told police that he had honked his horn twice at Snyder before pulling into the parking lot where Snyder allegedly ran into his car and fell onto the pavement.
Bouie told officers he left the scene because picketers began striking his car and damaging it.
Snyder and other witnesses told police that Bouie was holding up a phone possibly recording the incident, but Bouie denied having any such recording when questioned about this.
Police spoke with an officer who works for the school district who told them that he witnessed Snyder rolling off the car as if he had been hit and Bouie fleeing at a high rate of speed.
When this officer confronted Bouie about this he replied alleging that Snyder jumped onto his car.
YPD Traffic Commander, Robert Gentile tells 21 News that the case has been turned over the Youngstown Municipal Court's Prosecutor's Office and is still under investigation.
