Youngstown police are describing as "armed and dangerous", a suspect wanted for a shooting last week near the YSU campus.

Detectives are on the lookout for 21-year-old Anthony Gray, after charging him with attempted murder.

Police believe Gray fired a shot after an accident on Foster Street near the intersection with George Street.

YPD's 911 center got a call from the shooting victim, who said his car had been sideswiped on the Madison Avenue Expressway.

Police say the two initially pulled over, but when the victim got out of his car, the suspect vehicle took off at a high rate of speed. The victim followed the driver after they left the scene of the crash until they both stopped on Foster Street.

According to the report, dispatchers instructed the male victim to stop following the vehicle, but he continued to do so.

After both cars stopped, the suspect got out of the car and started shooting at the victim. Police say he was shot in the right eye, right arm, and right shoulder.

After the shooting, a passenger in the suspect's car drove away from the scene and the victim drove himself to the hospital where he was in stable condition.

YPD found the vehicle involved in the shooting, as well as 15 spent shell casings.
