Officials responded Thursday morning to reports of a large fight at the Mahoning County High School.

It happened shortly before 11 a.m., at the school on Gibson Street in Youngstown. The Mahoning County Sheriff's Office and Youngstown Police responded to the incident.

Sheriff Jerry Greene says between 25 and 30 people were involved.

A school employee that witnessed the fight tells 21 News it started with a group of 7 students. Once teachers broke up the fight between those 7 students, more students jumped in. Teachers and aides attempted to break up the larger fight, but struggled to do so due to the amount of students involved.

Officers on scene say nobody was hurt during the ordeal, and no weapons were involved.

Despite that report, an employee at the school tells 21 News he was injured when a pile of people fell on him during the fight.
