A company based out of Grove City has announced on Tuesday that it has acquired West Middlesex-based coffee roaster, O'Neill Coffee's roasting facility and private label business.

The company, known as the George J. Howe Company is a full-line candy and nut provider, as well as a roaster of gourmet and food service coffees according to a press release.

According to the release, the two Mercer County businesses have over 168 years of experience in the coffee industry.

In December of 2021, Len Caric and Jim Rudolf acquired the George J. Howe Company, which was previously owned by third-generation members of George J. Howe's family.

The company employs 85 people including Howe's great-granddaughter, Micaela May Plainsinis and distributes to 14 states including Indiana, New Jersey, New York and North Carolina.

"We are excited to welcome the O'Neill Coffee roasting team and private label customers to the Howe family. Our two multi-generational local businesses have always been dedicated to sourcing, roasting and delivering the best cups of coffee to our customers," Plainsinis said.

The company will continue to roast coffee in Grove City and West Middlesex.
