Committee supporting Canfield Schools levy to hold meeting Monday night

CANFIELD, Ohio - The Committee to Support Canfield Schools (CTSCS) will be holding an event Monday night in support of a school levy set to appear on the November ballot.
The event will be held at the Canfield Library (43, West Main Street) at 5:30 p.m. During the event, CTSCS will be reviewing the details of what's on the ballot for the proposed Bond Levy for the Canfield School District this November.
Mahoning County Auditor, Ralph Meachum will be present at the event and will discuss the upcoming 2024 reassessments. There will also be a Q&A forum for anyone with questions about the levy.
The public is invited to attend this event.
The levy is 7.5 mils and is meant to fund a new Pre-K-4 building and a new grades 5-8 building.
Additionally, the levy will fund a second gymnasium within the new middle school, some renovations to Canfield High School, abating or demolishing Canfield Village Middle School and CH Campbell Elementary School and repurpose Hilltop Elementary School for the Board of Education administration.
School superintendent Joe Knoll previously told 21 News there is no alternative way to fund this project and the city is solely relying on this levy in order to get started on the project.
