MILL CREEK METROPARKS - Mill Creek MetroParks has released an updated number of deer harvested during the second week of the park's deer management program.

According to the data from the parks, 38 deer were harvested from October 8 through October 14.

During the first week of the hunt beginning October 1 until October 7, 26 deer were harvested.

That brings the count to 64 deer harvested so far.

That number does not include the 30 deer harvested by the USDA through targeted removal on October 11.

The controlled hunt is being done to reduce the deer population after the park's data showed an average of 387 deer per square mile within the park.
