Welcome Center on Interstate 80 in Mercer County closed for renovations

The rest area on Interstate 80 eastbound near the Ohio border is closed for renovations.
On September 1, the Pennsylvania Welcome Center closed to begin renovations, and starting today, the restrooms, parking lot, and outdoor rest area are officially closed as well.
Renovations include connecting the public water and sewer system, new ADA-compliant bathrooms, a new roof, a shed and an air filling station. New tile and cabinets will be installed in the welcome center.
Travelers can use the rest stop facilities on I-80 eastbound in Venango County, and Interstate 79 northbound and southbound in Mercer and Crawford counties. The I-79 rest stops in Lawrence County remain closed as renovations wrap up there.
The entire facility is expected to reopen in January 2025.
