Suspect arrested in connection to two-year-old drowning in pool in Youngstown

A Youngstown man was arrested on Wednesday in connection to a two-year-old girl who drowned in a swimming pool on Youngstown's West Side.
Police arrested 31-year-old Albert Boykin on a warrant after he was pulled over for a turn signal violation. Police say he had a warrant out for his arrest with a charge of child endangering.
The charge stems from an incident that occurred at a home on Ridgelawn Avenue on September 29 when two-year-old Londyn Cayson drowned in a swimming pool.
Police say Cayson and another young child were playing in the yard when a woman, who police only identified as the cousin of one of the Cayson's parents was watching her.
According to police, Cayson's guardian stepped away for about five minutes to talk with a relative and soon noticed that Cayson was missing. That's when she was found floating in a swimming pool.
At this time, it is unclear what Boykin's connection is to Cayson, but a criminal complaint filed in the Youngstown Municipal Court on October 11 describes him as someone in "loco parentis" of Cayson, which means someone acting in the place of a parent.
He was arraigned in court on Friday and is due back on December 4 for a pretrial.
