A couple of local businesses are getting a financial boost after winning at the 4th annual Youngstown Business Incubator Shark Tank.

The event was held at Mr. Anthony in Boardman and featured pitches from five local businesses.

Of the five businesses that pitched to the sharks, Backyard Banger, which makes an outdoor storage kitchen island, took home $30,000 in prizes and investments for its business.

Meanwhile, D.O.P.E. Cider House and Winery, Ohio's first black woman owned cidery, won $10,000 for winning audience choice and another $10,000 from the sharks, who will pitch in some business mentoring.

The other businesses pitching included Engineer Products Incorporated, which pitched custom engineered RFID tags for the Department of Defense and Thera Logics, which developed a portable device to enable eccentric muscle exercises.

The remaining business dropped out of the competition when its owner was called to serve in the Israeli army.

More than 60 companies applied for this years event.
