Toyota has issued a recall involving certain 2020-2023 model Highlander and Highlander Hybrid vehicles with nearly 751,000 vehicles being affected by the recall.

According to a press release from Toyota, the recalled vehicles are equipped with a resin front lower bumper cover assembly connected with mounting tabs.

If there is minor impact to the lower front bumper cover assembly that causes the mounting tabs to detach from the vehicle during operation, one or more parts of the assembly can become detached, which poses a road hazard, increasing the risk of crashes and/or injuries for motorists.

For all affected vehicles, dealers will inspect the mounting tabs and slots for damage. If no damage is found, dealers will install retention hardware with improved design.

If damage is found, dealers will replace the upper and/or lower front bumper cover and install retention hardware with improved design free of charge.

All affected owners should be notified by December of 2023. In the meantime, if you'd like to see if your vehicle is affected by this recall or any other recall, click here and enter your vehicle identification number or license plate information.
