Youngstown Flea founder starts campaign to support Downtown Youngstown businesses
Youngstown Flea founder, Derrick McDowell has announced on Saturday a new effort to support downtown Youngstown businesses in a time of great need.
According to a press release, McDowell's organization, We Are A Generation has launched its "We Are Downtown" community support campaign.
The campaign is described as "an effort to send a direct invitation and call-to-action on behalf of the many businesses and entities who so desperately need our help, to those who so passionately want to support the City of Youngstown and see its downtown thrive."
There are three components to the campaign, with the first one being promotion.
We Are A Generation posted a video to its Facebook page showcasing various downtown business owners describe what the city means to them. McDowell is encouraging folks to share the video to get the word out about the campaign.
There is also a web page for the campaign where folks can take a look at all the businesses downtown has to offer and click on them to find out how they can support each one.
There's also an interactive Google Map of downtown to help folks locate the businesses, as well as a calendar of events to give ideas of dates and times to go.
Additionally, a contest giveaway in the works for up to $1,000. According to the release, more details of this contest are coming soon.
