Dixon Ticonderoga has issued a recall of its Creativity Sheet assorted craft buttons due to a violation of the federal lead content ban.

According to the Community Product Safety Commission (CPSC), all children's products and some furniture items must not contain a concentration of lead greater than 0.009%.

The recalled product exceeds this limit and in turn can be toxic if ingested by children causing adverse health effects. So far, no injuries or illnesses have been reported.

The buttons were sold in a one-pound clear plastic bag (pictured above) between May of 2022 and July of 2023 at Blick Art Materials and Staples stores as well as various online retailers nationwide for about $13 apiece.

“PAC6121”, “MADE IN CHINA” and lot code “02129171221” are printed on the back.

Anyone who has purchased a recalled product is asked to stop using it immediately and contact Dixon Ticonderoga to receive a pre-paid label to return the product. Once returned, a full refund will be issued.

Health officials recommend any child who has played with this product contact their health care provider about getting a blood lead test.
