Kent State University's Trumbull Count Campus's Digital Media Production Center in partnership with the Kent State Trumbull Theatrem Hounding Productions LLC and Trumbull Satellite is looking for submissions from students for its Student Short Film Festival.

Northeast Ohio Students from preschool to college age are invited to submit their very own 15-second to 12-minute short films for the festival. These films must be appropriate for a general audience.

Those who submit films are eligible to win gift cards ranging in value from $30 to $300. The deadline to submit these films is January 15, 2024. Those interested in submitting can do so here.

The contest is part of Kent State Trumbull's Digital Media Production Center's grand opening on January 30 and 31. The center will provide opportunities for students to learn about the industry and acquire skills to promote themselves during and after college.

"Our students will learn the nuts and bolts of the digital media industry and enjoy using the newest equipment," said Professor Carol Robinson.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects about 114,300 digital media job openings from 2023 to 2032.
