Specially designed snowmen to promote businesses coming to Lisbon this season

As the festivities kick off for the giving season, a group of students is making special decorations to Lisbon's downtown square to drive traffic to its local businesses.
The David Anderson Highschool Engineering Concepts class is building snowmen to fit onto a number of the parking meters as part of a beautification project crafted by them.
What make these snowmen will be customized for the business that sponsors them. They will also bear QR codes that patrons can scan which will take them to a commercial made by the students for the business.
"The students had to find the best way to integrate many different skills and ideas to eventually create a finished product," said Dave Pancurak, David Anderson's Engineering Concepts teacher. "The cooperation and critical thinking on this project really showcase the creativity of the finished product."
The project infuses community service into the concepts they are learning in the classroom.
The cost to sponsor a snowman is $45 to cover the cost of materials.
So far, 12 snowmen have been built and some are still available for sponsorship. The class hopes to have them all sponsored in time for the village's Christmas Parade on Dec. 2.
