Firefighters from several communities were called out into Monday morning’s chill to battle a house fire in Sebring.

Responding to reports of smoke in a neighborhood, firefighters found a burning home at the corner of North 17th Street and West Virginia Avenue at around 5 a.m.

Fire trucks and a rescue squad from Sebring were joined by firefighters from the Alliance and Damascus fire departments.

Investigators say the blaze broke out in the basement of the single-story brick home, causing damage throughout the interior.
