YOUNGSTOWN - Tonight, the Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley, filled with joy, gratitude, and a shared spirit of togetherness. Hundreds of community members came together to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving feast, complete with all the fixings.

"We're just very blessed to do what we get to do down here, and just see the faces of everybody coming in and getting to enjoy good food," Mike Byers, Director of Food Services said.

For the Rescue Mission, the Thanksgiving event isn't just about the food, it's about providing the guests with something more significant: a sense of belonging and a reminder that they are not alone.

Staff and volunteers gave their time to make the event possible, preparing dozens of turkeys and greeting all who entered the Mission's doors. Through their efforts, countless individuals who may have otherwise spent this day feeling isolated are reminded that they are loved, valued, and deserving of a hearty meal and a place to call home.

"I'm thankful to come down here because I've been coming here for the last four years, and this meal that we have to eat is very appreciated," guest Charlie Robinson said.

The Rescue Mission of the Mahoning Valley believes that no one should be left to spend this cherished holiday alone.
The annual event not only provides nourishment for the body, but also feeds the soul--
reminding us all of the power of compassion and human connection on this Thanksgiving night.
