YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A famous Youngstown polka producer received quit the honor from the National Cleveland-Style Polka Hall of Fame over the weekend.

Gary Rhamy, polka producer and owner of Peppermint Recording Studios, formed in Youngstown in 1970 was given the National Cleveland-Style Polka Hall of Fame's Lifetime Achievement Award on Saturday.

According to a Facebook post by the Hall of Fame, Rhamy has engineered 200 out of the 500 polka albums recorded at Peppermint Studios over the years with five of those albums going on to win Grammys.

In 2004, Rhamy received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the United States Polka Association and was inducted into the International Polka Hall of Fame in 2006.

Rhamy is one of four recipients of the award in 2023 and one of 11 inductees into the National Cleveland-Style Polka Hall of Fame in 2023.
