Newton Falls currently accepting applications for vacant Third Ward Council seat
NEWTON FALLS, Ohio - Newton Falls Village Council is currently accepting applications for the vacant seat of Third Ward Councilperson.
This comes after voters in the village overwhelmingly voted against keeping former Third Ward Councilwoman, Tesa Spletzer in her position. 80% of voters voted to have her removed from Council.
Anyone interested in filling Spletzer's seat should email a letter of interest and a resume to the Clerk of Council at cityclerk@newtonfallsoh.gov. Qualifications for the job are as follows:
- Must have been a resident of Ward 3 of Newton Falls for at least one year preceding the appointment
- Must continue to reside in Ward 3 of Newton Falls and be a qualified elector thereof throughout the entire term of office
- Must not be directly or indirectly interested in the profits or emoluments of any contract, work or service for the city
Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
