The Ohio Department of Transportation was poised to clear Valley roads overnight, but most of the snowy weather happened closer to Lake Erie.

ODOT posts in Mahoning and Trumbull County each had twenty plows and salt trucks working overnight.  Columbiana County had a dozen ODOT vehicles out. Other than a light dusting, as of 4:30 a.m. there were no hazardous road conditions reported locally.

It's a different story in Ashtabula and Lake Counties where lake-effect snow is slowing traffic and causing cars and trucks to slide along Interstate 90. ODOT was reporting an eleven-minute driving delay along I-90 near Route 45 in Austinburg. Trucks were being redirected off the highway.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation had imposed a 45-mile-per-hour speed limit on interstates in the northwest region overnight.  PennDOT lifted the restriction on Interstate 80 before 5 a.m.  The speed limit on other interstates was restored later.
