Gorant Chocolatier to open in Boardman on Dec. 1
A chocolate company that's been a staple in the Mahoning Valley for years is opening a new location in Boardman.
Gorant Chocolatier will be opening a new, larger location at 400 Boardman Poland Road on Route 224. Doors will open to the public on Friday, December 1 at 10 a.m.
The store will feature products similar to those at its other locations in Austintown and Boardman.
A chocolate "bar" is also planned at the new location in the beginning of 2024, where families can get chocolate beverages and chocolate covered treats. Co-owner of Gorant Chocolatier Bergen Giordani says the bar shows her commitment to the Gorant Chocolate Brand.
"My partner, Dr. Nino Rubino, and I recognize the strength of the Gorant brand. The plan has always been to take it to the next level, this storefront and chocolate café does that and demonstrates our commitment to keeping Gorants here in the Valley for another 75 years" says Giordani.
Gorant Chocolatier has been in the Valley for over 74 years. The company was acquired in September by Youngstown Chocolate LLC, owned by local
entrepreneurs Bergen Giordani and Dr. Nino Rubino.
Once everything is completed, the total investment of renovations on the new space including updated chocolate making equipment will
be over $300,000. The company currently employs 25 Valley residents, and plans to hire an additional 10 to 15 employees.
