A man involved in a high-profile murder of a Shenango Valley doctor in 2005 is heading back to prison.

Damien Bradford, 41, of Pittsburgh was convicted of attempted murder and aggravated assault of a Beaver County police officer.

Bradford shot a Pennsylvania State Police officer in the leg during a struggle at a convenience store in Aliquippa in July 2022. Officers had been investigating a disturbance outside the Franklin Mini-Mart when the shooting occurred.

The officer was treated for non-life threatening injuries following the shooting.

Bradford made headlines back in 2005 when he was charged with the shooting death of Hermitage doctor Gulam Moonda along the Ohio Turnpike. He was the star prosecution witness in the case against the doctor's wife, Donna Moonda, who was convicted of hiring Bradford to carry out the doctor's murder.

He was convicted of interstate stalking and being a felon in possession of ammunition and was sentenced to 17-and-a-half years in federal prison before being released in December 2020.

Donna Moonda was convicted of plotting her husband's murder and is serving a life sentence.
