SANDUSKY, Ohio - Cedar Point has provided an update on the amusement park’s latest effort to meet the need for speed and thrills.

Top Thrill 2's new 420-foot vertical spike tower has been erected near the existing "top hat" tower.

The final element, a segment of steel track, was lifted and secured last week, marking the conclusion of Top Thrill 2's track construction in preparation for its 2024 debut.

The ride promises a 101-mph reverse launch, ascending at a 90-degree angle on the newly constructed tower—the second of three launches during the ride.

The repurposed ride repurposes the Top Thrill Dragster roller coaster which closed in the summer of 2021 an object fell from it, striking a woman in the head, requiring her hospitalization.
