Youngstown woman sentenced to two to three years in prison for assaulting Liberty police officer

LIBERTY TWP, Ohio - A Youngstown woman was handed her sentence after pleading guilty to punching a Liberty Township police officer in the face.
According to the Trumbull County Prosecutor's Office, 25-year-old Sheriann Odem was sentenced to two to three years in prison on charges of felonious assault and vandalism.
The charges stem from an incident from November of 2022 when police were called to the Walmart in Liberty Plaza in reference to a shoplifting. Police say the shoplifting involved about $1,300 in merchandise.
Odem led police on a foot chase through the parking lot and eventually began kicking, punching and banging her head against a wall after she was told she was going to be charged with a felony.
At one point, an officer received a bloody nose after Odem punched the officer in the face.
