Undercover prostitution sting brings arrest in Salem
An undercover agent says a 21-year-old woman drove to Salem, believing someone was going to pay her for sex.
Madison Schreckengost of Stow, Ohio was arrested last week by a member of the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force posing as a customer.
Authorities say Schreckengost posted an ad on a website with a reputation for prostitution, where she allegedly offered to perform various sex acts for $100.
When the woman arrived in Salem, she was charged with soliciting and possessing criminal tools because investigators say she used a cell phone to set up the meeting.
Schreckengost is scheduled to appear in Columbiana County Municipal Court in February to answer the charges.
The suspect has been transferred to the Guernsey County Jail for failing to appear in court on other charges filed by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
