KINSMAN, Ohio - Police in Kinsman Township say they know who was driving a car that plowed over a veteran’s memorial in the town square over the weekend.

The identity was determined after police posted pictures on the department’s Facebook page showing damaged brickwork at the memorial.

Police located the driver with the help of evidence left at the scene, including pieces of a burgundy Chrysler.

A $100 reward was offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.

Police have not yet released the name of the suspect.

The memorial features a bronze eagle perched on a granite post, carved with the words, “IN MEMORY OF VETERANS OF ALL WARS - ERECTED BY THE CITIZENS OF KINSMAN”

The granite memorial was not damaged during the crash.
