Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition awarded $250,000 in Industry Sector Partnership grants

Ohio Lieutenant Governor John Husted has announced on Monday that the Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition will be receiving $250,000 in grant funding.
According to a press release, this is part of a total of $5 million awarded to 26 workforce partnerships throughout Ohio from the Industry Sector Partnership Grant, which supports collaborations helping to bring Ohioans into the workplace pipeline while meeting the needs of job creators and the local economy.
Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition Executive Director Jessica Borza tells 21 News that the money will be used to continue the Coalition's youth outreach programs.
Lieutenant Governor Husted says Monday's awards set a record for most partnerships created or expanded through the grant in a single round.
"It's important that we encourage collaboration throughout communities so we can train our students with the skills businesses in their regions need and expose them to the opportunities available in their own backyards," Husted said.
