The debate over climate change in across the world hit a boiling point recently as climate change activists have resorted to attempts to deface art and monuments to get their message across.

In an attempt to crack down on this recent activity, U.S. Senator J.D. Vance has introduced a bill that aims to stem these acts and any other acts of art vandalism that may happen across the country.

The bill is called the Consequences for Climate Vandals Act.

As it stands, the maximum prison sentence for a vandal is five years. Vance's bill would increase that penalty to 10 years.
