Grove City Police investigating waste cooking oil theft from business

GROVE CITY, Pa. - The Grove City Police Department is investigating a report of theft from a local restaurant.
According to the release, the department got a report of waste cooking oil being stolen from a business in the 100 block of S. Broad Street.
The business noticed a security cable was missing from the waste oil receptacle and that it was empty.
According to the California state government website, used cooking oil has some cash value. The site says a full truck of inedible kitchen grease could bring in as much as $600 at a grease recycling center.
The California government says restaurants are losing millions because of this kind of theft. They say to look out for pumper trucks without markings on the sides near businesses and trucks in alleys behind businesses late at night.
