The Mahoning County Dog Warden has been seeing quite the disturbing trend on Youngstown's east side this week.
According to a Facebook post from the Mahoning County Dog Warden, agents have been finding numerous deceased dogs dumped on the side of the road in Youngstown this week with multiple being found in the same area.
Saturday afternoon, the Warden received a call reporting the body of a male pit bull mix found on McQuiston Avenue in Youngstown, which runs right off of Liberty Road.
Agents say the dog was wrapped in a blanket and a tarp and was emaciated. He was wearing two collars including a thick black collar and a choke chain.
The person who reported this told agents that the dog was not there yesterday. It is believed that he was dumped in that area overnight.
In that same area, a severely injured dog was found this past Tuesday, as well as where the body of another dog was found wrapped in a blanked and a trash bag just a few days after that.
On top of that, another dog's body was found on Friday in that same neighborhood on Nelson Avenue with multiple gunshot wounds.
"This is what happens in Mahoning County on a regular basis. This is the new normal and it is not acceptable," the post reads.
At this point it is unclear if any of these cases are connected.
