HUBBARD, Ohio - Saint Patrick Church in Hubbard has set a new goal for when it hopes to reopen.

Father Michael Swierz tells 21 News that he hopes to have the church reopened and rechristened by Saint Patrick's Day of 2024. Swierz says no reopening date has been officialized yet as the church is still waiting on key materials.

Previously, 21 News has reported that the church was waiting on brackets to attach hand railings to the stairwells, as well as doors and an elevator. Swierz tells us he's still waiting on all of that.

Swierz previously told 21 News that local vendors have been very efficient in getting the materials the church needs in time, but there are ongoing struggles with "out of town" companies shipping materials on time.

As of now, masses are still being held in the church's Parish Center.
