Wounded woman found inside Youngstown store, bullet-riddled car outside

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Youngstown Police Department has released more details on a woman who had been shot on the 1300 block of McGuffey Road in Youngstown Tuesday night.
According to a police report from YPD, police were called to the scene just before 8:30 p.m. Tuesday with callers advising the victim was inside a convenience store.
Upon arrival, police observed two cars in the parking lot including a silver Chevy Impala that police say was riddled with bullet holes running from the passenger side fender, diagonal across the hood towards the middle of the dash and lower front windshield area.
Police also observed a pool of blood just outside of the entrance to the store.
Officers entered the store and spoke with the victim who was holding a cloth compress to her right upper torso where police say she was shot. Police also observed another small pool of blood inside the store.
Police then spoke with a witness who lives nearby. The witness told police he heard the shots and rushed to the store to see what happened when he found the woman on the ground with a store employee assisting her.
According to the Youngstown Captain's Office, she has been taken to the hospital with injuries.
Police are still investigating the situation.
